We are doing a Halloween story using Book Creator on iPads! This will be done in class and we will view them (and narrate them) once they are finished next week :)

After a lot of reflection last night, I decided to pause and take a step back. Before continuing with our writing in French, we are going to speak more and practice, practice, practice! :)
Students need to write a double spaced paragraph with at least 10 sentences (7 of which, minimum, need to be complex including "parce que" (because)). The following vocab and examples were discussed in class.
Students need to gather many, many images of autumn. These can include, but aren't limited to, animals (ex. bears, birds and squirrels and other animals that change their habits in preparation for winter), food, clothing and weather.
They need these for Tuesday, October 15. Bon action de grâce! We have started reading our book on autumn, and this is providing us with opportunities to discuss autumn events, like 'sauter dans les feuilles,' various foods and other fun things. We will read through this book, discussing autumn topics. At the end, we will write a few paragraphs to put towards our final project.
Bonjour et bienvenue! As some of you may remember, last year was my first year with my website. I was having difficulties with it by the last third of the year, and stopped using it. I spent time trying to figure out the issues and have successfully got the site back up!
However, I need to improve my habits of updating the grade 7 page. I will try to do better! In class, students have really been enjoying talking about a variety of subjects through our 'photo du jour,' which is a new activity this year. This may become a 'regular' activity (I say 'regular' because while it may be regular, it won't necessarily be every day/week in consecutive order). This year, I am hoping students can work towards one big project - a book. We will begin our work with a look at a book in class, next week. Our theme will start with autumn, though I hope to include other seasons/events. We will also be doing small units/activities on language structure throughout the year. As always, I have songs to help students learn! I have been gratified recently by many student's comments regarding their new understanding of activities we started last year. Many students, for example, have mentioned that they now understand much better many of the songs we sang and what their purpose was! The enthusiasm demonstrated for talking in French about the 'photo du jour' has impressed me! I look forward to a wonderful year of French with my class! :) |
