I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We are having a class party Thursday. My general rule of thumb is that if a child wants to eat, then that child needs to bring something to contribute. It seems a fair way to ensure that everyone helps. Also, I ask for no pop or chips. Fruits, veggies or HOMEMADE baked goods are all more than welcome. :)
Our class is a nut free zone, so there should be no nuts in any of the product. Also, if there are any eggs in your product, please be sure to let your child know as we have one student who needs to know about eggs. The five crowns will be due Monday. We have spent as much time as possible this week in class working on them.
We will also finish up our Christmas Villages for next Wednesday. They are looking fabulous! We will continue discussing food and how often we eat items next week as well as (hopefully) finish our mini-project on animal adaption before Christmas. I will NOT assign it over the Holidays, though, if we cannot finish it (that would be mean!). :) I am SO proud of our students. They are doing an excellent job in the play and their French is lovely! :) Students have been asked to think of three animals they would like to research for a project. I have asked for three animals, because each group needs to do a different animal. Hopefully, with three choices, students will get one of their picks.
Students can, of course, have more than three choices. Generally, we do not do extinct animals. This project will look at how animals are successful, or, in other words, how have they survived and adapted to their environment. Extinct animals do not, generally, fit this criteria. The animals can be endangered, as no animal on the planet can rightly be expected to cope well with human interference and pollution. We will discuss this further in class tomorrow. :) Report Cards go home today! Please return the white and blue folder, signed with the envelope for tomorrow. Merci!
