No electronic devices, like iPods, should be brought to school. Phones, brought only at parental discretion, should be kept in students' backpacks all day until after school.
It has been brought to my attention that the lunch monitors have noted numerous phones and other electronic devices out and in use during lunch time.
Please remember that NO electronic devices are to be used at recess or lunch.
Also, it has come to my attention that there is an app called 'snap chat.' I am not familiar with this application, but apparently it sends photos and, unlike Facebook or Twitter, does not even have the semblance of privacy. A person receiving a photo has no choice in 'accepting' or 'declining' the photo. It simply opens up in the app. This was brought to my attention by an adult in the school.
Unfortunately, it has also been brought to my attention that this particular app is often used for 'sexting' or sending inappropriate photos, which, of course, we do not want our kids exposed to. Often students think they are accepting a photo from someone they know, when in fact they do not know said person. This could lead to unfortunate events.
Please be reminded to check your child's phone regularly for content and applications.
Thank you.
