As you are all aware, the first five months of Intensive French focus on the teaching of French, which means that in February, Science, Social Studies and Art are introduced.
However, through experience, I have realized that an abrupt transition from one week to the next of all French to one hour of French a day with Science, Social Studies and Art can be a very difficult transition.
Over the past few years, I have found that introducing Science and Social Studies very slowly and in limited amounts, starting in December, really help with the transition.
Have no worries, however, that your child will lose instruction time in French. Just as I gradually add subjects to the day, I will gradually reduce the amount of French instructional time from all day to one hour.
I have found that this method creates a more positive and less stressful Term Two.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me!
